TLDR don’t waste your time with the print shop at this location(86th st) …..Well…the print shop is a frustrating place. my fiancée lives on the south side so we went to the Southport staples and had an amazing experience getting some invitations made. We needed some more so we went here(near my house). We brought with us an invitation that the Southport staples made and asked the guy at the counter to make a some more copies. He seemed so annoyed that we were there and was very condescending. I understand people have bad days but holy smokes this guy was on another level of rude. Anyways we finally convinced him to make the invitation copies and I left him a copy from the Southport store to replicate. He said I could come back tomorrow for pickup. I call the next day (Sunday) to confirm…they were unaware of my order but found it and got on it. I show up a couple hours later and the order still not done so I wait in store 30 more minutes. The lady shows me the invitation and it’s the wrong size/wrong quantity/wrong paper type (remember they had an example to replicate lol). I told them never mind and went back to Southport the next day and got the invitations made no problem super fast.

So I saw a TikTok that showed that Staples now had “Party City” inside. I hadn’t been in years but I wanted to get my mom some balloons for her birthday. Party City used to offer walk in balloon services so I assumed I could do that. When I got there I picked out a birthday balloon and planned to just get 4 additional color balloons. There wasn’t anyone in the balloon area so I just got in line. There was one cashier and another associate standing in another area near. While In line I stepped over to ask how the party city area worked because I wanted some balloons. He didn’t look up from what he was doing to address me, which was rude in its self. He claimed he was going to see where his manager was but never got back with me so I went back to the line and waited. Once it was my turn in line I told the woman I needed some balloons blown. She tried to reach “Steve” on the walker with no response. She then had to walk around to try to find him. In comes Steve from outside while she is still looking for him. She comes back and tells him she was looking for him and he asks her why would she be looking for him when it’s 5:45.. I go over to tell him I’d like help with balloons and show him the pack and tell him I want some orange balloons to go with it. He looks at me as if I’m speaking another language. I then ask do they not blow up balloons. He says yes but explains I need to do xy and z to get orange. I tell him I will take whatever color he has at that point considering I had been waiting for help going on 15 minutes at this point. He asked did I need them for that day or the next, I said today considering I waited. I guess me matching his energy prompted him to change the sarcasm in his voice. He then explained to me that it’s not quite like Party City due to staffing they take orders for next day and that it was a fairly new system . He asked for grace and he ended up blowing the balloons for me personally and it ended up being a much better experience. He was really friendly to my son who had been there waiting with me. I appreciated him for his help and now that I know to come in beforehand, I will do so. I think there should be a sign to tell customers what to expect as well. Thank you Staples Steve.

Our experience with Staples located on 86th St in Indianapolis has always been welcoming, professional, responsive. Through our years, our outreach and ministry marketing material and other needs has always been excellent!

The marketing team member knew exactly what I was looking for, walked out from behind the counter and walked me directly to the aisle to peruse the outlets I was looking for. He even took the time to compare and contrast different brands to help me get the right choice.

Worst customer service ever had, I went to the register ready to check out, i noticed there was two customer waiting at the register because the light was on but there were no cashier (nobody there) then suddenly from the other side of the store where they make copies… a guy called the two customers. In the min time I was waiting for somebody to come to the register because that’s what I tough, the light was on nobody showed up, standing there for more than 15 minutes. After that time the same guy from the other side of the store called me for check out and I told him they should turn off the light at the register because there’s not a cashier and that was no fear for customers ….and he asked me with a real bad attitude do you want to check out or not? I told him that was so rude, then he replied to me: and you are a bad customer. After being arguing I decided to leave without paying anything. I will never return to this location again.
