I arrived at Staples at 7:46 p.m. to return an Amazon package and was informed that Amazon returns are only accepted until 7:45 p.m. This was very frustrating, especially since the store doesn’t close until 8:00 p.m.. I understand that stores may have specific procedures, but stopping Amazon returns 15 minutes before closing without clearly communicating that policy creates an inconvenience for customers who arrive before the store closes expecting to receive the advertised service. I made the trip specifically for the return and was turned away despite arriving before closing time. I hope Staples does a better job of communicating these restrictions or considers accepting returns until the store’s actual closing time.

I just left from this store and this was the first time I’ve experienced horrible service. I spoke to 2 employees about making a USPS return I was told that I needed to print out the shipping label to make return. The employee gave me a card to send the information to. I ask the staff in the print section if he received it he said it takes time but never mention the steps needed to take to print it. While I was waiting there were no other customers and I was making small talk with the staff about what I was trying to do. All off a sudden I was told that the store was closed and refused to assist me and told me to speak with the manager Kory. After explaining the situation to the manager, Kory proceeded to take no accountability for his staff and provided no solution and told me the store is closed and that I must leave. Customer service is something that went downhill at this location and will be taking my business elsewhere.

I walked into the Staples in Roseville thinking I only needed a pack of paper. Twenty minutes later I somehow left with paper, pens, a desk organizer, and a surprisingly good office chair. The store has that effect—it quietly convinces you that being organized might actually be achievable. The staff was helpful without hovering, and everything was easy to find. If productivity had a physical location, it might look something like this Staples.

After driving through snowy mountains, stepping into Staples felt oddly comforting. Outside there were pine trees and quiet roads, inside there were notebooks, pens, and printers. The contrast made the store feel like a small island of productivity in the middle of the mountains.

They have begun charging $7 to simple put a piece of tape on a box for shipping. I wasn’t asking them to build a box or extra tape. Just a single piece of tape to seal it. I can understand the need to charge due to cost and labor but $7 is robbery.
