Daniel Currier 4 months agoCame here to purchase a couple office chairs, chair mats, and other supplies to get a new colleague’s space outfit. Only one employee was working and was busy at the front checkout. I couldn’t find anyone else to check stock for me on chairs. I spent about 20 minutes walking around the store and didn’t see other employees. When I went to leave, the single employee who was working there just stared. Service aside, the furniture selection is poor. Inventory isn’t great and boxed chairs are spread throughout the store. I normally prefer OfficeMax to Staples, but this location was not great. The only reason I’m not going to Staples because it’s 27 miles away and I’m not familiar with the Omaha area, otherwise I would.
Steven G 4 months agoWent in Multiple times and it’s always the same person to give me issues. Tonight I signed up for the business printing membership for $49. The cashier named Treeshawn Was ecstatic to learn something new when signing me up and did a great job following directions from her supervisor CJ. Treeshawn had a great attitude! The problem occurred when I went to use the self printer, and I couldn’t figure out how to sign into my new membership. I showed grief while the attendant, who is also the supervisor in the printing section, watched me confused. They did not offer any assistance at this point. I then went and stood in line for three, count them three exact Minutes with no one helping me and the supervisor whose name I’ll finally reveal is CJ didn’t say a single word to me until I decided to walk away shaking my head. It was then that they asked if I needed help. I Said to them that I do not feel comfortable asking them for help. CJ gave me attitude and a tone that made it feel like I was wasting their time bothering them. It’s unfortunate that this person is who the company leaves in charge to manage the night shift. The same reason why I chose to drive to the 126th St. and Center, Office Depot to do my printing there that night. I wanted to share this review and name drop because it is employees like them both in good and bad they can either make or break a business.
Mark Morello 3 weeks agoI use them for occasional supplies and they are adequate. However, i called to get a price on a banner and was told I'd have to call back in 30 minutes as they were too busy. I needed the banner in 48 ours and find a reasonable company to had the time for me and did it within 24 hours. Not sure if I'd take a chance on them again.
Roz 3 months agoI went into this Office Max on 3/18 around 6:40PM to look for a monitor riser for my desk. When I first walked in, the employee at the counter was nice and greeted me. When I began walking through the store, I noticed another employee walking around who looked like he was about to approach me. I had just assumed he was going to ask me if I needed help or sell me something. Eventually, he came up to me, asked if I needed help finding anything, and immediately started inquiring about my bag. It's a small JanSport backpack that I use as a purse since I suffer from scoliosis. He said he assumed it was mine, but told me he was informed that I had walked in with a backpack and because the store was prone to theft, they were going to have employees walking up and down the aisle to watch me as I shopped. He then proceeded to say he wasn't accusing me of anything. This is such a bizarre, uncalled for way of handling a situation like this. The minute you approach me asking me about my bag, you are already accusing me of being a criminal when I just barely walked through the doors. And as someone whose parents have worked both their whole lives in retail (not to mention stores with frequent theft), this is not how you handle the situation. I am not sure if it was just due to poor training, management, or boredom, but there are far better ways to handle this scenario. I would have been more understanding if there was signage at the front door regarding no backpacks or bags allowed, or if the first employee who had greeted me said that no backpacks or bags were allowed. Instead, the second employee was blunt and treated me like a criminal like they're spy agents or something. I ended up feeling very uncomfortable during the rest of my shopping trip knowing I was being watched, felt rushed, and ended up buying the wrong riser. I will need to return it, and that will most likely be my last visit to this OfficeMax.
DNK a year agoMy first impression from this store that it looks empty, but if you know what you need, you will find it there. May be they are short handed. It took me about 15 minutes to find, and there was nobody there to ask for help. After first visit you will know the store structure. Some labels, stickers or special paper you only can buy there, or wait few days from Amazon. Some computers are on big sale. Printing department pretty big.
