Lady at the customer service was very nice at greeting customers when they walked in but I can’t say for the employee Greg, who seemed to reluctant to help. I asked Greg where Trifolds would be for my daughter‘s school project. He made smart comments that were not Appropriate for customer service.

OfficeMax used to be my go to place for printing. When I'm in a pinch and can't make an online order, they're email and walk into print usually works great. The world is shortstaffed in almost every industry, this is something every consumer should know. All it takes is some communication and some patience. I had came in early this morning, and they said the person who can do the prints, is on their break. I left and came back 2 hours later. Dupree was rude, frustrated with his workload, clearly took it out on myself and my mom and brother that were there. He refused to complete the order until the next day. He said our $5 order doesn't mean anything. He was talking shit about almost everything, upset and talking down to us like we were 'idiots' He even told me that I shouldn't be emailing and I need to order online, something that I have done in the past but when you're in a pinch and need three copies of a 5x7 page, what do you do? You go inside. Why offer the email option if you no longer use it? Because it's clearly a lie. Dupree says he is management there, a poor mistake on Officemax choices. You have lost a customer who owns a Business on the Island. I can't believe the way he spoke, and treated us. I am baffled.

Usually my experience here is fine, but on 1/10/26, I stood in line for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement. The cashier was having a discussion with a customer about a used printer. Whatever the issue was, I was buying one ream of printer paper and I shouldn’t have to wait so long. I left without making my purchase and plan to use Amazon for my future office supply needs. I prefer to support local brick and mortar stores, but it can be such a hassle when staff are unhelpful or rude.

am writing to formally complain about my experience at the OfficeMax/Office Depot location in Emeryville. I went to this location seeking basic guidance on how to complete a printing task myself using the self-service machines. An employee told me I should do it on my own, yet when I explained that I did not know how, they refused to provide any basic assistance. Instead, I was told I would be charged a $15 service fee if they helped me in any way. I was not requesting full-service printing or for an employee to complete the task for me. I simply needed minimal guidance to use the self-service equipment. At other OfficeMax/Office Depot locations, employees have provided this level of assistance without charging a service fee. Refusing to offer basic help while attempting to charge for assistance—without clearly explaining why a full-service fee applied—is unacceptable and inconsistent with customer service standards. Customers should not be pressured into paying fees when they are willing to do the work themselves but need basic instruction. I am requesting that this situation be reviewed and that staff at this location receive clarification on proper service-fee policies and customer service expectations.

I arrived around 2:30 in the afternoon, stood in line for about 40 minutes, only one employee was working... There are no chairs for me to sit for that long, and nothing is clear. Terrible department
